About the Club

Approval for the Dances with Dogs Club to become a social club under the auspices of the Canine Control Council (Qld) t/as Dogs Queensland was received on 1 May 2009.

Social Club

During the first year of operation, thanks to the commitment and support of a number of people, the Club was very active and grew to almost 50 members, the Club’s financial position strengthened and it conducted a range of
activities for members.

Due to the generosity of the Toowoomba Dog Obedience Club and Dogs Qld, the Club obtained sound equipment for use at competitions and training activities.  Approval for the Club to operate as an affiliate of Dogs Qld was granted, effective from 1 January 2010.  The main benefit of achievement of this status was that it facilitated the Club’s organisation and conduct of DWD competitions, something which is not within the ability of a social club.

Affiliate

Since 2010 the Club has continued to grow and conduct a range of activities – particularly competitions and
training activities with local, interstate and international instructors.

The club became an incorporated association in October, 2011.

Meetings

The Club holds its AGM in February or March annually, and has six to eight meetings a year, with all members welcome to attend.  Members receive business papers and minutes from every meeting as well as email updates on a variety of topics.

We conduct several training activities as well as competitions throughout the year.
